Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes symptoms of hyperactivity, inattention and impulsive behaviour. To improve symptoms you will need to learn how to self-regulate your emotions and thoughts to help manage your behaviour and ability to focus. Josephine will consider your contextual factors of your symptoms, while supporting your strengths. She will use a strength-based approach and work towards improving your self-esteem, as well as capacity to manage your attention and behaviour.
Josephine will see each person in terms of their worth and help them understand their unique potential , unique strengths and needs.
Sessions to promote behaviour and ability to learn and work better will include techniques to:
Limit distractions at school and in every day life
Improve attention to work better and more efficiently
Be more organised and to capitalise on strengths
Manage emotions and behaviour
Frustration and anger management
Improve Interpersonal behaviour
Poor effort management
Self-regulation & self-awareness skills
Considering how your environment is influencing your challenges.
Sessions for younger people (6 years and over) also includes parent and teacher training. Family therapy may be needed to improve the relationship between each person within the family and each person's functioning and wellbeing.
