ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Support & Strategies to Improve Learning, Attention, Behaviour & Self-esteem

Picture
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes symptoms of hyperactivity, inattention and impulsive behaviour. Challenges such as trauma can cause ADHD symptoms to increase and therefore healing from trauma can help improve symptoms of ADHD.

While it is important to work with the trauma before ADHD symptoms, sessions include:
  • Limit distractions at school and in every day life
  • Improve attention to work better and more efficiently
  • Be more organised and to capitalise on strengths
  • Manage emotions and behaviour
  • Perspective taking
  • Problem solving
  • Frustration and anger management
  • Improve Interpersonal behaviour
  • Poor effort management
  • Self-instruction skills
  • Self-regulation & self-awareness skills
  • Considering how your environment is influencing your challenges.

Sessions for younger people (6 years and over) also includes parent and teacher training. Family therapy may be needed to improve the relationship between each person within the family and each person's functioning and wellbeing.
