Emotional Abuse

What is Emotional Abuse?

Emotional abuse is a form of interpersonal abuse.  It is when a significant other or person you know puts you down through criticism, makes you feel worthless, is controlling your friendships, how you dress and your finances.

You will feel confused, a lack of self-esteem, numb, dissociate, depressed, lack of motivation and dependent.  You may not even know you are emotionally abused, but know that something is not right.  A counsellor will help you ascertain what you are experiencing and why.  Knowledge will help you understand that you are not crazy, that you have rights and how to change your life for the better, because you deserve better.

Emotional abuse has no scars so the symptoms can seem confusing but it is real.
